Pier Tosta

Pier Vegner Tosta is a curator, critic and collection advisor for private and corporate clients. His curatorial practice fuses innovative and creative thinking with multidisciplinary skills. His vocation and training is drawn from working with both the creative arts and cultural institutions; interacting with commercial organisations, local authorities, educational centres, community groups, charities and individuals.

By implementing effective arts management, and with over 10 years of professional practice, he conceived, coordinated and managed visual art and contemporary craft projects both nationally and internationally. Pier is a Dutch national who grew up in Argentina and Brazil. He studied Advertisement & Marketing at Faculty Chafic Jabali in São Paulo, Visual Communication and Applied Arts at the Art Academy Gerrit Rietved in Amsterdam and moved to England in 2008, where he completed his MA in Enterprise Management for the Creative Arts at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London.

While living in the Netherlands, he worked on projects at the international symposium “Park of the Future”, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, M-use Netherlands within the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, Sur Magazine, The “International Browser Day” at the Society for Old and New Media and the “Mobility” project at the Brave New Art Foundation and Bruce Gallery, an annex of the First Biennial of Architecture of Rotterdam. Internationally, he has worked with diverse institutions and art groups, among them: Spirit Parcs-Bremen, La Porteña in Buenos Aires, Xixicas in Barcelona, Bozar the Centre for fine Arts Brussels, The Danish Society for Central Asia, the Central Asia Pavilion at 53rd Venice Biennale and Cura Magazine in Italy. Since his relocation to England, Pier has taken part in projects with the International Curators Forum, The British Council, Tate, Steps Gallery, Vegas Gallery, The Natural History Museum and Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
